Assemblymember Bonta Reviews His Six Major Pieces of Legislation

Tuesday, January 1, 2019

(Sacramento) - Assemblymember Rob Bonta (D-Oakland)  is taking stock of his major legislative accomplishments halfway into  the 12 years he can serve in the California Legislature. There are six  bills which he has authored that he is particularly proud to have become  law.  Among the six is the TRUTH Act to stand up for, defend, and  protect our immigrant neighbors. It was signed into law in 2016. This  law requires that immigrants be informed of their rights before speaking  with ICE; mandates that local law enforcement hold a public forum to  discuss their immigration policies and all ICE related data must be  subject to the Public Records Act.
