Friday, May 20, 2016

(Sacramento) – With National Gun Violence Awareness Day approaching on June 2nd, Assemblymember Rob Bonta (D-Oakland), Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon, several other Assembly Democratic lawmakers, and supporters gathered for a news conference in the State Capitol to discuss gun violence and pending gun related legislation. Assemblymember Bonta authored Assembly Bill 1695 to stop illegal “straw” firearm purchases. “I am tired of visiting classrooms and watching as all of the students raise their hands when asked if they know someone who has been shot,” said Assemblymember Bonta. “Gun violence is tearing apart our communities and traumatizing entire generations. With this package of bills, California is taking action to protect our kids.” Here’s more in this Assembly Access video.
