(Sacramento) – Assemblymember Rob Bonta (D-Oakland) and the State Assembly stood in strong support of Dreamers and the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program during the debate on House Resolution 66. HR 66 condemns President Trump’s decision to revoke the DACA program and pushes Congress to develop a new version of the Dream Act that includes a pathway to citizenship for the estimated 800-thousand young people brought to this country as children. “We stand shoulder to shoulder in support of our Dreamers and in strong condemnation of the cruel, heartless and morally bankrupt decision by the President to end DACA,” Assemblymember Bonta said. Here’s more about HR 66 and what it means to our communities, our economy and the Dreamers in this Assembly Access video. http://www.asmdc.org/bonta
