Oakland Warehouse Fire Victims Remembered in State Assembly

Thursday, January 5, 2017

(Sacramento) – Assemblymember Rob Bonta (D-Oakland) had the State Assembly adjourn in the memory of the 36 people who died in the tragic fire that swept through the artists’ collective known as the Ghost Ship. “This was the largest single loss of life in a structure fire in California since the 1906 San Francisco earthquake,” said Assemblymember Bonta. “The Oakland victims were young people, mostly in their 20s and 30s. They were artists, many were musicians. They were drawn together by a love of art.” Here’s more from Assemblymember Bonta’s remarks on the Assembly floor in this Assembly Access video.
