Resolution Encourages California DREAM Act Applications
(Sacramento) – Assemblymembers Jose Medina (D-Riverside), Lorena Gonzalez Fletcher (D-San Diego), and Rob Bonta (D-Oakland) were joined by Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon (D-Paramount) and CSUS student/DREAMer Norma Mendoza at a State Capitol news conference to discuss House Resolution 20, which encourages students to apply for the California DREAM Act. Recent reports show a significant decrease in California Dream Act Applications, down 40% from last year. “The California DREAM Act is an important pathway to a college education,” said Assemblymember Medina, Chair of the Assembly Higher Education Committee. “However, the current political climate has deterred our students from even applying.” Watch this Assembly Access video to learn more.
