Are you or a family member enrolled in Medi-Cal? If so, act now to ensure you maintain coverage for the following year.
Medi-Cal is California’s Medicaid health insurance program for individuals with limited financial resources. It offers free or low-cost health care coverage to those eligible.
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, annual Medi-Cal re-enrollment was paused in March 2020, allowing individuals to keep their healthcare coverage continuously. This period of continuous coverage expired on March 31, 2023.
Starting April 2023, you may be required to take action to ensure that you keep Medi-Cal coverage for the following year, by verifying your contact and eligibility information to re-enroll with Alameda Social Service Agencies, which oversees Medi-Cal in Assembly District 18.
Alameda Social Service Agency has already begun mailing Medi-Cal re-enrollment packets to recipients depending on their individual renewal date, making it vital to verify that the agency has your updated contact information.
This e-alert provides steps and resources to update your contact information to ensure successful re-enrollment in Medi-Cal.
