April Update: Build Student Leadership with the African American Leaders for Tomorrow

Asm. Bonta April Update Graphic

Are you a high school student watching today's headlines and wondering how to make a difference? Do you want to learn more about how to impact California’s legislative process? Are you looking to be the next generation of Black civic leaders? Apply to the African American Leaders for Tomorrow (AALT) program today!

Last year I had the honor of accompanying 6 young leaders from across Assembly District 18 on a four-day trip to CSU Dominguez Hills, joining with other California students to debate policy and build skills at the prestigious African American Leaders for Tomorrow conference. From mock committee hearings, to touring professional venues like the Fox LA studios, to meeting directly with state elected officials, the power of our students’ voices is unmatched. This program provides a vital opportunity to uplift the too often unheard voices of students, and helps provide them with the tools they need to channel advocacy into action. We need youth leaders - now more than ever. I encourage all who are eligible to apply.
