AD18 DMV Changes Hero Graphic

Dear Friends,

As many residents may have noticed, on June 3rd, 2024 the California DMV reduced the amount of services provided at office locations. Knowing what services are no longer provided in person as well as alternative methods is key to ensuring everyone can get their business done quickly and efficiently.

The following services are no longer offered at DMV office locations:

  • Vehicle Registration Renewal
  • Driver License and ID Card Renewal (with no in-office requirements)
  • Driver License and ID Card Replacement
  • Driver and Vehicle Record Requests

These services can now be completed digitally or remotely through:

This change is expected to vastly improve wait times, with visits to DMV offices expected to drop by 2.4 million per year.  Further information on the changes can be found on the DMV webpage, by calling (800)777-0133, or by contacting my District Office to help you. Together, we are committed to enhancing efficiency and accessibility for all.

Yours in Service,
