Martin Luther King Jr Day: Advancing Social Justice Together on January 15

Dear Friends,

As we begin a new year, let us join together to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. This moment serves as a reminder of the significance of acting in service to others and our environment, fostering spaces with values of equality and community stewardship for a society that is both just and inclusive, all principles that Dr. King tirelessly advocated for. As we reflect on Dr. King’s powerful force for positive change, let us channel the Martin Luther King Jr holiday into community action - “a day on, not a day off.”

I will discuss the bills I introduced in the California Assembly, prioritizing equipping our students with the means to achieve, defending reproductive rights and our democratic process, and reinvesting the state’s wealth in underserved communities across District 18.

Breast Cancer and Health Resources

Dear Friends,

The Center for Disease Control recommends that women over the age of 40 speak with their health care provider about when and how often they should have a screening completed.

Are You Prepared for a Natural Disaster? Act Now and Make a Plan

Dear Friends,

Recent tragic disasters in Maui and unprecedented weather events we saw in August in Southern California have only strengthened the need to share local emergency resources, harden our communities against natural disasters, and prioritize work to lower the severity of these devastating events.
