Dear Friends,
Dear Friends,
Dear Friends,
As we begin a new year, let us join together to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. This moment serves as a reminder of the significance of acting in service to others and our environment, fostering spaces with values of equality and community stewardship for a society that is both just and inclusive, all principles that Dr. King tirelessly advocated for. As we reflect on Dr. King’s powerful force for positive change, let us channel the Martin Luther King Jr holiday into community action - “a day on, not a day off.”
Dear Friends,
Are you or someone you know, a student who is passionate about state or local government?
If so, I encourage you to apply for my Spring 2024 Student Internship Program! This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to experience the inside world of the California State Assembly while helping serve the local community in the district office.
Dear Friends,
In case you missed it, I held a virtual legislative town hall with my Capitol and District team to update the community on the status of our 2023 legislative bills that made it to the Governor’s desk and were signed into state law.
Dear Friends,
As the California legislature prepares for a new session, my team and I are sharing our work in the 2023 legislative session and reviewing the joys and challenges of the past year. In this spirit, I warmly invite you to attend my Legislative Town Hall. I will discuss the bills I introduced in the California Assembly, prioritizing equipping our students with the means to achieve, defending reproductive rights and our democratic process, and reinvesting the state’s wealth in underserved communities across District 18.
Dear Friends,
This October, communities across the country stand united in raising awareness for breast cancer. Accounting for 1 in 3 cancer cases every year, breast cancer is the most common cancer for women, with the majority found in women 50 years or older. The Center for Disease Control recommends that women over the age of 40 speak with their health care provider about when and how often they should have a screening completed.
Dear Friends,
Dear Friends,
September marks National Disaster Preparedness Month, an important reminder to take action to ensure that you and your family have the knowledge, tools, and confidence to respond in case of emergency. Recent tragic disasters in Maui and unprecedented weather events we saw in August in Southern California have only strengthened the need to share local emergency resources, harden our communities against natural disasters, and prioritize work to lower the severity of these devastating events.
